Peter's younger brother — the one who brought Peter to Jesus.
Andrew was a fisherman casting nets on the Sea of Galilee, an ordinary man sharing the family's livelihood with his brother Simon Peter. But he was also someone who knew how to listen when John the Baptist cried out in the wilderness.
One day, when John pointed at a man and cried, 'Behold, the Lamb of God,' that single sentence changed the direction of Andrew's whole life. The first thing he did on the very night he followed Jesus was go find his brother Simon: 'We have found the Messiah.' That's how the 'rock' named Peter began — with one word from his younger brother.
From then on, Andrew was always 'the one who went and brought someone back.' It was Andrew who found a boy's lunch in a wilderness of five thousand hungry people and brought him to Jesus; it was Andrew who guided the Greeks who wanted to see Jesus. He was always in the second position, but from that position, he brought more people to stand beside the light than almost anyone.
